About Us
Yongkang Elementary School is located in the very center of Yongkang District, which is the largest district by population in Tainan City, connecting old Tainan City and newly-planned urban areas. It is a few minutes away from Yongkang Junction and Yongkang Train Station. For 115 years, Yongkang Elementary School has been nurturing childrens in the neighborhood and also inspiring teachers to becoming better educators.
Yongkang Elementary School offers compulsory elementary school education, as well as a kindergarten, an art talented class, special education classes, and a adult supplementary class. We are also committed to providing versitile activities for children to develop their enthusiasm for learning more. We have a Chinese orchestra, a recorder team, and a choir. For sports team, we have basketball, table tennis, diabolo, and track and field teams, with strong supports from our outstanding alumni and our parent-teacher association.
Yongkang Elementary School is a school with a long history. However, this doesn’t stop us from exploring better and innovative ways of learning and teaching. We have competency-oriented teaching and PBL-based learning projects that equip our students with the skills they need for their future. We also work with businesses and institutions near our school for any possibilies of connecting learning and real life experience.
